It also manage the education system in the whole district of Hyderabad in an effective and efficient manner.

Currently, there are DIETs in more than 500 districts across the nation. Presently, these institutions have been given the charge of several other responsibilities. Simply put, the DIET was established primarily as a center of guidance for the educational institutions and schools of each district within the country

These institutions were a nodal agency for providing academic and resource support at the grassroots level for the success of various strategies and programs undertaken in the areas of elementary and adult education with special reference to the Universalization of Primary/Elementary education. They help in coordinating and implementing government policies at the district level.
